Marsalis became the first jazz artist to be awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize in music for his oratorio "Blood on the Fields," commissioned by Jazz at Lincoln Center. Hailed as "an extraordinarily versatile orchestra" by the Los Angeles Times, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is composed of 15 of jazz music's leading instrumental soloists.
